ABOUT

"Walker brings a fresh new funk to the music scene."

- Kenwood Dennard,

(drummer for Jaco Pastorius, Miles Davis)

Walker Adams is a drummer, composer, producer and drum teacher based in Newburgh NY. He has a degree from Berklee College of Music and has played for St. Vincent, The Ludlow Thieves, Miggs, and bassist Percy Jones of Brand X. His signature sound reflects his respect for tradition and passion for innovation.

Walker Adams grew up in Vermont where he was naturally drawn to music at an early age. His passion for drumming grew through his middle and high school years at a Waldorf school in a suburb of NYC. He attended Berklee College of Music where he met Hiromi Uehara, Christian Scott, Esperanza Spaulding, Annie Clarke, Thomas Pridgen, Kendrick Scott, Jeff Gitty, and Nikki Glaspie.

"Walker's drum solos are very musical."

- Percy Jones

(bassist for Brian Eno, Brand X),

After graduating with honors he began his professional career in NYC. He toured with fusion bassist Percy Jones and soon joined Annie Clarke a.k.a St. Vincent for a year-long tour of her debut album Marry Me. This included opening for Arcade Fire, playing Coachella, and doing several national and international tours. He then worked with rock drummer Carmine Appice in his drum show Slamm, and became a founding member of the NYC-based rock band The Ludlow Thieves.

His talents were brought to the attention of Miggs who was looking for a drummer to tour their album Wide Awake. Thus began a five year relationship during which they opened for Plain White T's, Scott Weiland of Stone Temple Pilots, and KT Tunstall. They shot a music video starring Lindsay Lohan and recorded several studio albums one of which was produced by legendary Billy Joel producer Phil Ramone.

"Steve Gadd ain't got nothing on Walker Adams."

- Annie Clark

(St. Vincent),

Walker currently lives in the Newburgh NY in the Hudson Valley region of New York State. He is active with his original band Telepathic Moon Dance and records and teaches from his private studio.
